Planet Friendly Cycling Holidays

Headwater and our sister company, Exodus Travels, were two of the first companies in the UK to declare a climate emergency. For decades, our teams have been actively seeking ways to reduce our carbon emissions in an effort to reduce and mitigate the environmental impact of our holidays. From our fantastic range of single-centre-based trips in the UK and Europe to our easily accessible train travel booking service, we believe in minimising our impact every step of the way on our Cycling trips.

With many of our UK and European Cycling trips, you have the option to book your departure and return trip on the train by speaking with a member of our Headwater Team. The benefits of travelling by train are clear and far-reaching, from reducing queuing times and transfer costs to the fact that we also produce far less carbon by choosing not to travel by air. For example, on our Cycling from Amsterdam trip, you can easily get to Amsterdam's cultural hotspots and art galleries with a quick, direct, and seamless train journey from London St Pancras to Amsterdam Centraal Station.

When it comes to our single-centre trips, we hand-pick the most characterful accommodations where you will spend the entire trip. By staying in one place during your holiday, the transport impact of our holidays is reduced. Enjoy a peaceful 7-night stay in the rustic Agriturismo La Pietriccia on our Taste of Tuscany Cycling trip. Complete with a pool and a lovely terrace area, the hotel owner, Stephano and his family also cook authentic, truffle-laced Tuscan cuisine that's prepared from organic produce grown on their own farm and through local producers. Or why not discover quaint fishing villages along the rugged Spanish coastlines on our Catalunya activities trip, where you'll stay in Hotel Garbi, run by the Serra family, which overlooks the beautiful fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell.
