TRIP DETAILS

Embark on an unforgettable 13 day guided journey through South Africa from Cape Town to the Kruger National Park, where vibrant cities, sweeping coastlines, lush vineyards and untamed wilderness of the big five come together to create a truly remarkable adventure. In Cape Town, Table Mountain stands guard over a city steeped in history and culture. Stroll past grand colonial buildings and wander through the historic Company Gardens, before heading to colourful Bo-Kaap, with its steep, cobbled streets and brightly painted houses. Scenic drives along Signal Hill, Clifton and Camps Bay reveal the dramatic meeting of mountains and sea, while the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens offer a serene escape beneath towering peaks.

Travel along the rugged Cape Peninsula, where cliffs plunge into the Atlantic and sunlight glints off turquoise waters. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve unfolds in wild beauty, with windswept beaches, rocky outcrops and curious African penguins waddling along sandy shores. Inland, the fertile valleys of the Winelands open into a patchwork of vineyards, dotted with Cape Dutch estates and rolling hills, where the aroma of oak barrels mingles with the scent of wildflowers and the promise of a perfect vintage.

Journey further into the semi-arid Klein Karoo, where ochre hills, ostrich farms and dramatic mountain passes give way to the Outeniqua Mountains, framing Oudtshoorn's unique charm. Here, meerkats emerge at sunrise, delicate limestone formations shimmer in the Cango Caves and the stillness of the Karoo invites quiet reflection. Follow the lush forests and sparkling lagoons of the Garden Route, before venturing into the African bush of the Kruger National Park, where the vast savannahs come alive with elephants, lions and a symphony of birdsong.

This journey is a seamless blend of culture, nature and wildlife, offering an intimate connection with South Africa's landscapes and people, leaving memories that linger long after the sun sets on the African plains.

REVIEWS

Megan was helpful and did a good job explaining everything to me.

19 Dec 2025

The booking process, over the phone, was quick and efficient. The representative was very friendly and helpful. Any spoken details were very quickly sent on as a series of e mails. I have felt fully informed at all stages.

19 Oct 2025

A nice range of holidays available through Headwater and the one I experienced a couple of years ago was very well run. My latest booking was less good - emails I sent did not get through and I had to ring up to get my query resolved. Having booked the holiday I was told it would be more expensive than quoted because I was departing on a Saturday. I don't mind paying a fair price but surely the website should calculate the correct price at point of purchase and I should not be advised after having booked and paid a deposit. Finally - my main objection was that having made an enquiry about a holiday I was bombarded with emails ( 2 per day) and phone calls to ask if I was going to book. I found this intrusive and very annoying. I like Headwater and Exodus but I don't like a hard sell.

Catherine Smith, 1 Jul 2025

Very professional and timely responses. Luke has been wonderful and responsive to deal with.
