We can arrange air travel for all our non-UK holidays. On the individual holiday pages the ‘departure dates and prices’ tab includes prices for our ‘standard’ route for/to London. Alternative flights, onward rail to your holiday area, and connecting private transfers can be arranged from most UK airports. If you would like to use one of the many 'low cost' airlines, we can book these on your behalf. We can also book UK shuttles to connect with your onward flight. In addition to scheduled and chartered airlines we are also able to offer and recommend a number of low cost carriers on selected holidays. Should you wish us to book your low cost flight for you, there will be an administration fee of £30 per person return. This is in addition to any fees charged by the airline. Full payment for low cost tickets will be required at the time of booking. These airlines offer a limited in-flight service; meals and refreshments, if available, must be paid for on board.
Our standard air prices are based on flying out of London, however we appreciate that flying from your regional airport can be a much more attractive alternative. Should there not be a suitable flight from your regional airport we can book connecting flights to/from London from many UK airports.
Should you wish to travel in business, club or first class, then we can offer you the opportunity to upgrade to a superior service with many of our featured airlines. Depending on your route and airline, benefits of upgrading your flight may include: dedicated faster check-in; executive lounges; wider seat pitch and more leg room; unlimited complimentary drinks (including alcoholic drinks); and improved luggage allowance.
Many airlines now operate an optional self-service check-in system at the larger airports. Certain airlines also offer an on-line check-in facility 24 hours prior to departure. This allows you to select your own seat and avoid lengthy queues. If you have bags to check-in, you simply drop them off at the designated desks and they will be forwarded to the aircraft in the usual way. Please note that British Airways charge for seat selection, and you will need to pay them directly.
Many airlines no longer require a ticket for travel. We will therefore provide you, at confirmation invoice stage, with a reference number for your flight that you can quote at check-in. The reference number will also be provided on your final documentation.
More & more airlines are now no longer providing in-flight meals and free check-in luggage as part of their service. Where possible, we always include these for Headwater customers, however we cannot guarantee this service on all flights.
Should you require overnight airport accommodation, airport parking or even a uniformed chauffer to take your car from your departure terminal and park it for you, we can arrange this for you through Holiday Extras.
Airport hotels are available with transfers and airport parking can be arranged either on or off airport. Executive lounges are a great way to start your holiday off in style - you can wait in the airport’s executive lounge before your flight. You are offered unlimited free drinks, including most alcoholic ones and nibbles. There are also magazines, newspapers and TVs to enjoy whilst waiting to board the aircraft.
Car hire can be arranged in all the countries where we operate. For certain holidays, we recommend hiring a car for your entire stay. On selected holidays, complimentary car hire is included for all air passengers - see individual holiday pages for full details. We can, of course, arrange car hire for other holidays to allow for independent exploring perhaps at the beginning or end of your time with us.
Our preferred car hire supplier is Europcar. Cars with unlimited mileage, collision damage waiver and theft protection (excesses payable according to country & size of vehicle) are available. If you wish to drop your car off at a different place to where you picked it up, we can usually arrange this for you, often at no additional cost. You can also use their pre-registration service to reduce the time it takes to pick-up your car.
