Dominated by the towering snowcapped crags of the Dolomites is the pretty, Tyrolean village of Dobbiaco. This is where Italy meets neighbouring Austria and the result is a delightful mix of painted houses, wooden carved balconies, onion-domed churches and cosy cafes that serve the perfect cappuccino.
At the centre of an efficiently integrated ski transport and trail network, Dobbiaco is a cross-country skier's mecca and the area has hosted the Cross Country World Cup on several occasions. The resort comes with snow-making cannons and there are 120km of perfectly prepared cross country ski trails (200km if including the wider 3 Zinnen area), with tracks starting from right outside the hotel's door. You will easily find your ski legs on the sunny valley trails that link the charming neighbouring villages of Villabassa and San Candido. The regular ski bus - a travel pass is included in your trip price - allows you to ski as much or as little as you want. And for a day without skis, snowshoeing and winter walking routes are also available.
Your base for the week is the beautiful, family run Park Hotel Bellevue, where good old-fashioned hospitality merges with superb 4* comfort. Relax in the luxurious spa with swimming pool, jacuzzi, saunas and steam room, enjoy the vistas, wines and whiskies in the effortlessly stylish bar and savour the tasty fusion of Italian and Tyrolean flavours in the elegant restaurant.

One of the local team will give you your Guest Card - for unlimited travel on the local trains and ski buses - and provide an explanation of the myriad of cross country ski trails that crisscross the area, before you enjoy the first of 7 delicious dinners in the hotel's stylish restaurant.

You will spend 7 nights as guests of Andreas and Sandra at the beautiful 4-star Park Hotel Bellevue. It combines effortlessly elegant modern interiors, with old world charm and good old-fashioned hospitality. Facilities include a luxurious spa with sauna, steam room, swimming pool, massage/beauty treatments and a stylish bar with gorgeous mountain views - and an impressive whisky selection.
Food at the Parkhotel Bellevue is based on local, farm-fresh produce and is a tasty fusion of Tyrolean tradition and Italian finesse. Evening meals consist of 4 courses - with wine accompaniments recommended by Andreas, a certified sommelier!
Pick up you skis and set off on a discovery of the 120km of pristine pistes. There are trails here to suit all abilities, and you can hop on and off the convenient bus service to explore further afield. Find your ski legs on a lovely trail around Dobbiaco itself through snowy meadows with a stunning backdrop of snowcapped mountains. Head past the glittering river Drava to the pretty village of San Candido, follow a scenic trail through snow dusted woods to the eery, unspoilt beauty of Lake Dobbiaco or glide along the appropriately named sun track through fields to the village of Santa Maria. For more experienced skiers, the cross country stadium offers more demanding tracks where the national team has trained and the Cross Country World Cup is held! Waymarked walking trails are also available for independent exploration.
Private cross-country skiing lessons with a local ski school are also available if you would like any tuition (supplements apply).
