TRIP DESCRIPTION

Set off on a 6-night cycling adventure in Austria's Salzkammergut, a stunning introduction to the enchanting Lake District. Experience postcard-perfect scenes with blue lakes, green meadows, alpine villages, and traditional dress. The region's beauty shines on this cycling holiday, suitable for all levels. Enjoy stops for swims in lakes, exploring ancient salt mines, ice caves or relaxing boat trips. Experience the magic of Salzkammergut at every turn.

Venture into the historical depths of the Imperial Spa town of Bad Ischl, a place steeped in legacy. Adored by Emperor Franz Josef I, this city offers a captivating glimpse into its imperial past. Bad Ischl, recognised as the European Capital of Culture in 2024, stands as a testament to its regal heritage, with every cobblestone echoing with stories of the past. Don't miss the charming town of Gmunden on Lake Traun, where crystal-clear waters reflect the Austrian Alps' majestic peaks, creating an idyllic backdrop for your cycling adventure.

The local cuisine narrates tales of tradition. Savour Pinzgauer Bierkase, a cheese soaked in beer since the 17th century, and indulge in the timeless taste of Mozart Kugeln marzipan chocolates, crafted to perfection since 1865. Complete your culinary journey with a Fiaker coffee, a robust black brew sweetened with sugar and rum, crowned with a velvety layer of whipped cream. The name harks back to the Fiakers, horse-and-carriage coachmen who sought warmth in this comforting concoction during chilly Austrian winters.

Your sanctuary throughout this adventure is the exquisite 4-Star Hotel Goiserer Muhle in Bad Goisern, nestled by the peaceful Muhlbach river. It seamlessly blends elegance and tradition, offering a delightful stay. Unwind in comfort after cycling through Salzkammergut's wonders, with award-winning cuisine and a rejuvenating spa. Let the hotel's charm elevate your holiday experience, promising rejuvenation amidst the stunning backdrop of the region's natural wonders.
