Explore by ski on winter activity holidays in Norway
Cross-country skiing is the perfect way to see this mystical snow-covered land in winter. Whether you're a complete novice or consider yourself a natural langlaufer, our
Norway ski holidays cater for all abilities.
Our winter activity holidays to Norway are for seven nights and include five days of ski tuition and guided excursions to ensure you get the most out your trip − you may even see some of the local wildlife if you're lucky. You'll be based in a family-run hotel in Venabu, on the edge of Rondane National Park, with stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains and forests. Once you see it, you'll understand why we selected this homely hotel as the setting for our Norway ski holidays.
Offering complete escapism, you'll spend your days exploring the wilderness and your nights feeling awed by the blanket of stars that twinkle in the seemingly endless sky. You may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
What else can you do on Norway winter holidays?
Venabu is well known for its warm welcome and delicious traditional food. Take some time out to relax in the sauna, practise some yoga or simply sit on the terrace wrapped in a blanket and take in your incredible surroundings. If you're ready for more action, you can try your hand at dog sledding, snowshoeing or enjoy a romantic torch-lit, horse-drawn sleigh ride under the stars to round off your stay in the remote wintry idyll. Like so many of our guests, you'll want to make our Norway winter holidays a regular event.
For a refreshing change of pace, a day or two in the buzzing and cosmopolitan capital, Oslo, makes a great addition to a Norway holiday in winter. Wandering around the compact city, you can marvel at the spectacular architecture, stop off at one of the many coffee shops which celebrate the Norwegians' love for the roasted bean, and indulge yourself in the burgeoning food scene. Spend an afternoon gallery-hopping to see everything from contemporary art to works by one of Oslo's most famous residents, Edvard Munch. Or hop on board an evening boat trip on the Oslofjord to take in the twinkling views of the capital by night.
At Headwater we've been creating holidays across Europe since 1985, so you can rest assured that we know what makes a great holiday. We hand-pick small family-run hotels that offer delicious regional cuisine and owners who take a genuine interest in their guests. And our Norway winter holidays are no different.
