TRIP DETAILS

As admired for its hilly landscapes as for its Burgundy wines, Chablis now has an international reputation for its excellent quality white wines: outstanding finesse, minerality and purity. The vineyards around Chablis, are delight for lovers of both culture and wine; they are home to some of France's finest appellations, and feature some of its most beautiful castles.

Surrounded by the famous vineyards that produce dry white wine, Chablis is a fine example of a medieval Burgundian village. Grown across a relatively small area of about 20 kilometers from north to south and around 15 from east to west, Chablis wines offer a wide range of expression through the Petit Chablis and Chablis appellations and the different Climats of the Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru AOCs.

You will stay in a 3* gastronomic boutique hotel, nestled in the heart of Chablis. In a region known for its epicurean finesse, you will enjoy an evening of fine dining. At the hotel's Bistrot, you will be able to taste Burgundy's excellent local dishes such as Oeufs en Meurette, Poulet de Bresse a la Creme, Perche aux Noix and of course exquisite cheeses like the pungent Epoisses de Bourgogne, to pair with the region's incredible Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.

REVIEWS

Helen at Headwater provided a very prompt response to our initial email enquiry. This was followed up with a detailed quotation, as well as answering all our questions. Our trip was all sorted and booked within a few hours (along with a welcome discount 😊). We are now very much looking forward to our Classic Swiss Alps self guided walking holiday this summer.

David Batchelor, 31 Jan 2025

The service was excellent. Andrew Palmer walked me through the booking process, answering my questions, telling me what to expect, and ensuring that I didn't forget to supply any critical information. I particularly appreciated that he arranged to call me, despite the seven hour time difference.
