TRIP DESCRIPTION

Discover the Prosecco region, better known as the 'secret garden of Venice' on this 7 night, single centre cycling holiday.

Cycling is by far one of the best way to get to know this famous Italian region, framed in the north by the Alps and in the south by the river Piave plain, where green hills are covered by lush vineyards. What is waiting for you is a land full of charm, history and art, enriched by unexpected surprises bearing witness to its ancient past: fairytale castles, aristocratic villas but also typical cellars where local people are keeping alive the traditions and the pleasure of hospitality - you will absolutely need to taste their delicious local products!

In this area winemaking tradition has ancient roots: the first written evidence of Prosecco dates back to 1772 and nowadays, even though sparkling wines are widespread throughout the whole country, only the product born from these particular grapes, with its floral and fruity scent, can bring in the world the name of 'Prosecco'. From Conegliano to Valdobbiadene there are 30 kilometers of hills covered with vineyards, where tractors do not arrive and men are the protagonists of a heroic viticulture: welcome to the world of Prosecco, where the first Italian road dedicated to wine, Strada del Vino, was born in the 1960s.

You will spend 7 nights at the charming 4 star Hotel dei Chiostri, located in the historic centre of picturesque Follina and you can choose to stay on a bed and breakfast basis or upgrade to half board, with 7 evening meals taken at the hotel's restaurant, where you will be able to sample their specialities and traditional cuisine.

This trip is also available to book with 7 night stays at 3 star or 5 star hotels

REVIEWS

Friendly, efficient and helpful

1 May 2024

Megan was very knowledgeable about the trips and helpful in recommending the most appropriate trip for us, as beginners.

Simon Hammond, 12 Nov 2023

Thanks Megan.

Robert Kitchingman, 22 Aug 2023

Excellent telephone response. Answered all questions in an informative and warm manor. We have changed our original holiday plans and this was easily rectified. The email response was prompt and precise making me feel confident that our holiday will be equally efficiently organised. I have not holidayed before with headwater but recall friends speaking highly of the service. All in all we are both looking forward to our cycling holiday in September knowing that we can relax and let headwater are organising things for us.
