With more and more smart phones around these days, The Daily Telegraph has helped out holidaymakers by publishing a list of the current best Travel Apps – here’s how they can help you in places like this….(Sardinia before you ask)…
Have you ever received your travel documents through the post and stuck the itinerary to the fridge thinking “I’ll read that later?”. Easy to do, and sometimes a simple typo that could have been fixed becomes a significant problem. Apple users can make this less likely with Tripit, an app that allows you to have all your holiday details on your phone at the touch of a button. Zoom in, zoom out, show the check in staff and ditch all those bits of paper.
For up to date information on the road ranging from what to do on a rainy day to where to eat in over 8000 destinations, Triposo can be a real mine of information, and you don’t even need an internet connection to use it as you can store the details to your phone.
Skyscanner is a great app for finding out who flies to where for what – ideal for comparing prices and destinations so you find the right flight at the right price.
Finally if you are lost for words, as so many of us are when ordering from the a la carte menu on the harbour-front, try Google translate. It even reads out words and phrases for you and can translate upwards of 50 languages. That ought to cover most places you might like to go.
