With the changing situation regarding the current COVID-19 outbreak, disruptions to your travel may occur. This page will be updated with the latest information regarding your Headwater holiday, in order to ensure you’re prepared and informed about any changes.
If your trip is impacted by COVID19 related travel restrictions we will contact you over the next few days. We’d encourage other customers with bookings not to call our contact centre during the next few days, unless necessary, in order for us to contact those who are impacted. We really appreciate your support while we make these arrangements.
We have suspended departures between 18 March and 15 May 2020, if you were due to travel with us then you will be entitled to a credit towards future travel. Please read here for more details.
Decisions about whether we can operate upcoming tours are made on a rolling basis, as the advice can change at any time. Where the advice for a country is temporarily against all non-essential travel, we will not normally make changes to tours more than 6 weeks before the date of travel.
We continue to monitor the World Health Organisation (WHO) country statistics and the UK FCO for all countries we visit on a daily basis, and will communicate with customers if we believe an increase in risk in that country is likely to require changes to their holiday.

We are asking all clients travelling on our trips to self-screen in advance of travel to ensure they do not join a trip after being exposed to a higher than expected risk of infection.
We will cancel or amend trips if required to ensure your safety.
We request that any of our customers who have any reason to believe they may have a higher than expected risk of infection to contact us to discuss suitable actions. This includes people who believe they may have been close to an infected person in their country of residence or abroad.
Various countries to which we operate are amending their entry requirements in relation to travel from (or a recent visit to) higher risk locations.
While we will endeavour to inform customers of any significant changes as much as possible, we may not be aware of your recent travel history before joining your trip. Therefore all travellers are requested to check entry requirements to their intended destination to ensure they meet any requirement that may have been put in place. We recommend your own government’s travel advisory service information for your destination country – for the UK, the FCO Travel Advice; for Ireland, the Department of Foreign Affairs; for the US, the State Department Travel Advisory; for Canada, Travel Advice & Advisories; for Australia, the Smart Traveller information service; for New Zealand, it’s SafeTravel.

Take out appropriate travel insurance before travelling and make sure it covers you for all the activities you want to do.
If you are travelling within Europe, ensure you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) that hasn’t expired and understand what it covers - you still need full travel insurance though! For your free EHIC card visit www.nhs.uk/ehic.
Learn about the laws, customs and entry requirements of the country you’re visiting and understand how they differ from home, check www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.
Check your passport is valid, fill out the emergency details, look after it while travelling and keep it in a safe place. Make sure you have all necessary visas.
Make copies of important travel documents, take a picture or make copies and store them securely using a secure data storage site.
Research vaccinations or any other medical requirements for your destination, and if necessary visit a travel health clinic before you travel. For medical advice visit travelhealthpro.org.uk.
Tell your friends or family about your travel plans and where you’re going and leave emergency contact details.
Take enough money with you and have access to emergency funds.
Ensure you take the contact details of the local British Consulate in case of emergencies - www.gov.uk/government/world/embassies.

The FCO's consular service is a major operation - every day their consular staff around the world are helping British nationals. Their website travelaware.campaign.gov.uk contains a wealth of information for anyone planning a trip overseas - country advice, travellers' tips, advice for you while you're there, and much more.
As soon as you begin thinking about travelling abroad check your passport, if you have one already, don't let it run out on you; and if you do not have a passport apply in good time via the 'Check and Send' service at your local Post Office. The UK Passport Service can provide all the information you need regarding your passport or passport application.
The Department of Health website offers essential information and advice on how to avoid the need for health care when abroad; how to plan for healthy travelling; how to obtain emergency medical treatment in countries throughout the world; and how to obtain and use the EHIC card, which will provide you with free or reduced-cost emergency medical treatment in countries within the European Economic Area.
No compulsory vaccinations were required for any of the holidays we feature, however malaria tablets and/or hepatitis and typhoid vacinations are recommended for clients travelling to the French Caribbean, Latin and Central America. Requirements may, however, change and you must check the up to date position on compulsory and recommended vaccinations and other health precautions with your doctor in good time before departure.
