Do I need a car?
Depending on where you decide to enjoy your villa or cottage holiday, most destinations require a car so you can drive to the start of the walks/cycles. Car hire with air-conditioning and of a size suitable for yur family or group can be arranged for all holidays.
What activities are available for my party?
We've developed a 'family programme' in each area - made up of shorter, interesting walks and/or cycle rides that are suitable for little ones or less active members of your family or group.
A selection of the villas and cottages are also family-friendly, with lovely garden areas for children to play in, indoor/outdoor pools, ping-pong tables and board games. Check out the 'facilities' tab for each property at headwater.com/villas.
Does the walking/cycling start from each of the properties?
From each property you can stroll around the local area and most also have walks an cycle rides starting directly from your villa doorstep. For some walks, though, you'll have to drive a short distance to tje start of the walking routes.
Are there places to eat out locally?
For those days when you fancy heading out of your villa or cottage for dinner, there are usually local restaurants situated within walking distance of most properties.
Are there any extras I can book on top of what's included?
Yes, to make like that little bit easier and perhaps slightly special, we can arrange (subject to availability by region and extra charges): a local chef to cook an evening meal for you all, a delivery of fresh local produce to your property, a local walking guide for a day or two or even electric bikes for the duration of your stay.
How long are the waks/cycles?
The lengths vary but the beauty of a Villas & Cottages by Headwater holiday is you have the freedom and flexibility to choose how long you want to walk or cycle for each day.
What sort of cycling can I expect?
You can cycle as much or as little as you want, and choose routes that suit you. Under the 'activities' tab on the villas page, we have provided some suggested itineraries for all villa holidays, which detail the activity level of the walking and cycling routes. You'll also receive details of these on arrival at your villa or cottage.
Can you arrange for us to fly from local airports?
The prices quoted are for villa only but we can arrange flights for you and then can be booked from your local airport.
I'm travelling with young children, what do I need to know?
Cots and high chairs can be provided for children, please request these at the time of booking. Please note, there may be extra costs. Childen over the age of two count as a full paying adult.
Can I extend or shorten my stay?
Wherever possible outside peak season we can be flexible on the duration of our villa and cottage holidays. This is subject to availability, please call our sales team to discuss your requirements.
