If you have never put a pair of skis on before, you're probably asking yourself questions like "what if I don't like it?", "what if I hold the rest of the group up?", "What if I do not take to it?" To put your mind at rest you'll be surprised to find out that you're probably not the only one with these apprehensions and you most likely will find yourself sharing the experience with other like-minded individuals.
Whether you're on a fully guided, semi-guided, or completely independent winter holiday, Headwater will always try to ensure that as a beginner, you feel completely relaxed and comfortable with what you're doing, after all, you are on holiday!
For example, if you choose one of our regular cross-country skiing holidays, we will always try to start your week off on a flat mountain plateau, where you can learn the basic technique on the neatly groomed trails close to the hotel; there will be no long distances to ski and no big hills to climb! As you progress throughout the week you'll have the option of doing slightly longer distances and more challenging terrain, or you may just be content to remain in the areas where you feel confident.
At any point throughout the day, if you start to feel tired, you'll have the freedom of returning to the hotel to relax, have a drink and something to eat, or maybe spend the afternoon pampering yourself in the hotel spa.
