The number of nights spent in hotels of different classifications is shown in price tables like this:
"Hotels: *** (2), HH (2), AA (2)".
*** is the country's official hotel rating.
HH shows the classification of accommodation such as chambres d'hôte and agriturismi.
AA indicates the level of comfort of auberges, alberghi etc not falling within the local classification systems.
All these are officially licensed, very popular with clients, and very much part of the country way of life.
Children get discounts, all season, usually for under 12's sharing a room with two adults, check the price table for details.
Even if they're not sharing, under 12's will still get discounted air and rail travel.
All under-16's get half price insurance, and under-2's are insured free (with some restrictions on cover).
