By the sea, fresh fish abounds, with sea bass, bream and mullet frequently on menus. Another favourite is spaghetti alla bottaga, a salty dish with dried and salted grated fish roe. Everywhere, you'll find the wafer thin, crispy shepherd's bread - pane carasau. Made that way to be carried in their satchels and to keep well for long periods, it's delicious dipped in the local ricotta cheese.
