HIGHLIGHTS OF GOZO CYCLING (FURTHER DETAILS)

General information:
Independent 6 night multi centre, cycling holiday.

This holiday is a lower one cycle, perfect for gentle explorination along gentle tracks, offering coastal views. The days are reasonably short although there is usually an opportunity to extend the day. Cycling is on a mixture of asphalt roads, earthen tracks and limestone tracks. It is generally flat although there are some ascents, which are generally short.

The hotels are of a high standard offering relaxation, luxury and tradition.

Covering the whole island of Gozo, you will have plenty of opportunity to cycle between hotels taking in all the sights on your rest days and on cycling days. There is also time to take the boat over to Comino or just simply relax by the pool! For such a small island there is plenty to see and discover - and the pace is incredibly relaxed!

Location:
Gozo is part of the Maltese archipelago, which includes the islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino (Malta is the largest and Comino is the smallest!). The islands are located virtually in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, 93km south of Sicily and 288km north of Africa.

Gozo is only a small island (14km x 7km!) so we will be covering most of the island during the holiday. We start at the four star, Ta Cenc, which is at the south of the island, then move to Xaghra near the north. The third stop is San Lawrenz which is on the western coast.

Who would this holiday appeal to?
This holiday would appeal to those who have not been on a cycling holiday before as the distances are short and the roads are generally quiet. There is a good mixture of terrain, however it is usually quite easy to navigate.

People who enjoy coastal cycling as there are lots of lovely sea views and swimming opportunities.

Also for those who like a bit of luxury as the hotels are all 4 and 5 star, this holdiay will be perfect!
