Explore timeless Provence, unchanged for centuries

Characterful hotels – all with swimming pools – great food

Full of historic, cultural and romantic interest

Poppy fields, vineyards, lavender, parasol pines, and more than 300 days of sunshine a year

Wonderful views as far as the Med to Mont Ventoux

This popular cycling holiday, which has been modified and improved for 2008, follows a triangular route, exploring the heart of “secret” Provence. It is almost wholly unspoiled, combining rural tranquillity with beautiful landscapes, and it hardly seems to have changed in centuries.

You’ll see dozens of châteaux, and lovely churches, chapels and abbeys. The cycling is relaxed and mostly undemanding taking you through vineyards, woodlands and up to pretty perched villages with the most amazing views. The summer sun is softened by breezes coming in from the Mediterranean and, everywhere, there’s the scent of the garrigueto remind you you’re in Provence.

This holiday starts and ends at our hotel in Le Thoronet. In between, you stay in a lovely 8-room auberge in St Antonin, and a beautifully converted C16 coaching inn in Tourtour. All hotels offer private outdoor swimming pools and there’s a newly installed jacuzzi in Tourtour.

This holiday is also available as a 4 night 'taster' version. You follow the same route as the regular holiday, but move on everyday (no rest days), making it ideal for a long weekend break.
