1. Your Government's Advice

You must follow any restrictions on non-essential travel imposed by your home government.

UK general COVID restrictions summary

If you are permitted to travel, you should ensure you understand any risks of travel to your destination by reading the travel advice from your home government and make your own choice to travel or not.

FCDO Travel Advice

Headwater will normally only operate to a country where there are no UK FCDO travel advice warnings (i.e. no advice against non-essential travel).

The UK government has also provided this guidance for international travel including the latest Coronavirus Restrictions.

2. Destination Entry Requirements

Check the entry requirements for your destination of choice from your country of departure. For example, you may require proof of vaccine or a negative COVID test. Your nationality may also be taken into account when entering a country so ensure you confirm what arrival forms need to be completed before travel, if any. Headwater will not normally operate to a country that requires UK customers to quarantine on arrival.

For a quick and easy guide to the latest travel advice by departure and destination country, as well as by nationality, we recommend visiting the CIBT website. And our team of travel experts can help with any questions you may have, please contact us for more information.

3. Returning Home

Ensure you can comply with your home government requirements for return travel at the end of your trip. For example, you may require a negative test taken before departure, or there could be quarantine requirements for travellers from certain countries.

  • Headwater will normally expect to operate to Green List destinations.
  • Headwater may proceed with holiday arrangements to Amber List destinations as long as there are no FCDO travel advice warnings against travel to that country. But customers will be offered the choice to continue to participate or amend to another date if the quarantine requirements are not suitable for them.
  • For general testing advice for UK travellers, including recommended testing providers, please see our advice on testing below.

Advice on accessing COVID testing for travel

Providing a negative COVID test will be a common requirement for entering a country for some time. Accessing the appropriate private test for travel is now easy in many countries. If, from the above information it is clear a test is required, we ask you to choose your test provider in good time. For testing in the UK, the government has a long list of approved test providers which you can view here.
