Taking your car on holiday gives you the chance to enjoy total freedom - from packing as little as you like, to travelling in your own time and seeing even more of the local area whilst you're away. There's also the opportunity to load up with some wine you may have found you like, on your return journey. Why not also make the most of your "road trip" and combine two different trips in different regions – be it cycling or walking?

If your journey requires an overnight stop en-route, we have a range of stopover hotels that are specially chosen for their locations close to the ferry ports or autoroutes. For further details, prices and availability please call us on 0044 1606 720199

If you'd prefer to travel by rail, using Eurostar and onward high-speed trains throughout Europe, or to fly to your destination from your local airport, see our tailor-made travel choices.

Driving in France

Europe by Car

It's so easy to get to mainland Europe by ferry or Eurotunnel (the fastest route to France with motorway to motorway access) – please just get in touch with us to select your ferry or Eurotunnel crossing when making your booking.

We can provide the latest timetables so you can choose the crossings, dates and times that suit you. Alternatively, if you would like to add a crossing to your holiday after your booking's confirmed, you can now do this too.

If you're planning to drive in or through Paris, Lyon, Lille or Grenoble on your next holiday, please make sure you are aware of current restrictions and purchase a car pollution (Crit'Air vehicle emissions) sticker before you travel. You can find out more about the scheme here.

Eurotunnel

Eurotunnel

Eurotunnel is the quickest and most convenient way of crossing the channel, with a crossing time of only 35 minutes from Folkestone to Calais. There are up to three departures an hour during peak periods. Eurotunnel's drive on / drive off process is very quick, easy and hassle free with little waiting around time at either end. Eurotunnel also has the added bonus of not being affected by adverse weather conditions, which makes for a reliable service 365 days a year. Eurotunnel trains are all air-conditioned throughout and have toilets on board.

Flexiplus Option

Customers travelling by Eurotunnel can opt for FlexiPlus. This will entitle you to a priority club lane check-in, entry to the exclusive private FlexiPlus lounge (open 06:00-22:00), a light meal, tea, coffee, chocolate and free wifi.

Ferry

Cross-channel Ferries

For customers wanting an alternative sea crossing we can offer competitive rates with P&O Ferries, Brittany Ferries, Condor Ferries and DFDS Ferries.

In addition to the short Dover-Calais route we can also offer longer crossings that can significantly reduce your driving time in the UK or on the continent.
