Very organised and helpful Headwater office. Easily the best single cycle route, great for first time families!

Mr W Crough went to Veneto in June 2007...

What is the appeal of this wonderful country?
Is there a balance between cultivated and raw?
Between the wooded and the plain?
Are the distances between towns just right?
Are they the size that suggests community?

My wife and I feel that this place satisfies an innate longing that is hard to find in other places we’ve been. We love the “campanili”, cooking that doesn’t think sugar is a flavour, people that are relaxed, history piled on history, bicycling outfits that would make me blush, everyone has their wine, weather that is hard to predict, soil that looks and feels like it’s just waiting for the next rain, cycling “unter den unden”, chestnuts and remembering their aromas, people who loved to share their language, new houses attached to the antique, churches that reflect a commitment of decades of money, toil and danger, food that isn’t afraid of salt and oil, water springs that are recognised for their utility and beauty and a sense that we have been very fortunate to have been here at this time.
