Hawk Inn, Plymouth, Vermont

The Hawk Inn is a well-appointed hotel located about four miles outside the small town of Plymouth. About 15 minutes away is the larger town of Ludlow where you will find facilities such as shops, restaurants and banks.

The Hawk Inn itself is built in the shape of a New England farm house, the hotel is located on the banks of the Black River within 1,200 acres of parkland. With 50 rooms, the hotel is reasonably small; the rooms allocated to Headwater are the standard rooms which either contain two queen sized beds (in twin rooms) or one king sized bed (in double rooms).

All rooms are decorated in a classic country style with floral décor and have amenities such as cable TV, video and DVD players, mini bar (without alcohol) and bath robes.

If you have upgraded to a deluxe room, you will also find a wide screen television, paintings by local artists and perhaps a whirlpool bath.

Facilities at the hotel include a large spa with jacuzzi, sauna, indoor pool and outdoor thermal pool. The outdoor pool is really special with views out over the Black River. You can also borrow ice skates free if you fancy having a go on the hotel’s own skating lake!

Omni Parker House, Boston

Boston is a fascinating city in which to spend a few nights. The Omni Parker House is a stylish, olde worlde type hotel decorated with chandeliers and wood panelling. It is actually the oldest continuously operating hotel in the United States and famous visitors of the past incude John F Kennedy and Charles Dickens. It is also famous as the birthplace of Boston crème pie!

Ideally located for sightseeing, the hotel is right on the Freedom Trail. Your stay at the Omni Parker House will be on a room only basis but there is a full restaurant at the hotel if you wish to eat there.

The rooms are spacious with either a king size or two queen sized beds as well as an armchair. All have cable TV, minibar, hairdryer, telephone and bathroom with shower and bath. There is also a small gym in the hotel if you have too many slices of the creme pie!
