Highlights This holiday explores the 'real' France: majestic rivers, endless patchwork fields, pink-gold cliffs and ancient villages and chateaux. Often, it's as though you've got the countryside wholly to yourselves! Excellent choice too for lovers of fine food and wine.

Hotel les Gabarres, Tour de FaureThis is the base hotel for our move on cycling holidays in the Lot. It's a modern hotel and all the rooms have ensuite facilities. There is a pleasant pool area overlooking the surrounding fields and cliffs to the rear of the hotel and the pretty village of St Cirq-La-Popie is just a stroll away. As the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, your evening meal is taken at the Auberge des Versanes. Further details on the hotel website. Independent hotel reviews on Trip Advisor. |

Hotel Le Grezalide, GrezesSituated in the sleepy little village of Grezes, this hotel was a real find. Originally a 17C chateau, it has been transformed into a charming hotel using a striking mix of traditional and modern design. The simple but stylish rooms are either in the chateau building or in a modern patio building, where the rooms open out directly into the gardens. The hotel is set in spacious grounds, where you can relax in a lovely peaceful location. It does however benefit from a table tennis and games area and a heated swimming pool.
