Hostellerie de L'Abbaye, Le Thoronet

The 19 bedrooms at the Hostellerie de l’Abbaye are decorated in Provencal colours, they are simply furnished and set over 2 floors (ground floor and 1st floor).

The light and airy bedrooms are all en-suite (all rooms have a bath) plus air conditioning, direct telephone line and satellite television.

L'Auberge St Pierre, Tourtour

The Auberge St Pierre is a couple of kms outside Tourtour, amid a wonderfully green 90-hectare estate.

Formerly a 16C country residence, it is now a 16-bedroom hotel offering a wide range of facilities: swimming pool, tennis courts, sauna, jacuzzi, walks and fresh water fishing.

Hotel Plaza Republique , Lyon

This modern yet stylish 3 star hotel features 78 rooms, each equipped with satellite television, direct dial telephone and adjustable air-conditioning. They are also all soundproofed, to make it a haven of peace and quiet.

The hotel enjoys a superb position on the narrow peninsula between the Saône and Rhône rivers. The Rue de République, the city’s main shopping area, is less than 100m away, and you have a wealth of bars, shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Hotel Normandie , Auxerre

This hotel was originally a maison bourgeoise until it was converted into a hotel by an ex-pâtissier! It has now been in Mme Ramise’s family for over 45 years.

The hotel only provides breakfast, although à la carte room service is possible (very reasonably priced and a good selection of hot and cold dishes). However, it’s fun to explore the lovely town of Auxerre and there are plenty of good restaurants in all price ranges within 5-15 minutes walk.

There’s a public swimming pool in the town and a sauna at the hotel (approx 7€). There is a secure closed garage behind the hotel (6.50€ per day) or free parking in front (ask at reception).

Le Cheval Blanc, Montmort, nr Epernay

The Hotel Le Cheval Blanc is an attractive building in the style of an old coaching inn, and lies in the town square where parking is available.

The nineteen rooms are furnished a floral country style and each has a television, en-suite facilities and direct dial telephone. The hotel also has a solarium area and a private fishing lake.

The restaurant is furnished a Baronial style with burgundy painted walls, wooden beamed ceilings and hunting trophies on the wall. There is a good choice of regional menus to choose from, as well as a wine list including regional and national vintages.

If you are able to spend an afternoon here in summer, the Renaissance Chateau de Montmort is well worth a visit. Also as you are in the middle of Champagne country, you can visit cellars and vineyards nearby.

Hôtel de la Place du Louvre, Paris

This charming 3 star hotel is situated in a quiet side street overlooking the Louvre Palace. Being only a few steps from the Louvre museum, the river Seine and the famous Pont des Arts Bridge, it is a great place to stay whilst exploring the city.

All rooms are tastefully decorated and each is dedicated to an impressionist painter - Picasso, Dali and Dufy to name a few! They all have en-suite facilities plus satellite television, hairdryer, mini-bar, direct dial telephone and air conditioning.

Hotel Le Senat , Paris

Le Senat is a 3 star hotel but with a 4 star feel! Completely renovated in 2003-2004, all 41 rooms are en suite (with both bath and shower plus Hermes toiletries!) and beautifully furnished with a modern, stylish decor. All have satellite television, mini bar, air-conditioning, safe and hairdryer, plus Internet access.

The hotel has its own small bar – adorned with photographs of eminent artists, being in the heart of the artists’ quarter - plus a reading room where clients can relax with a drink. There is also a very small terrace (enough for only one table and a couple of chairs) for when the weather is more clement.

Breakfast is taken in the basement, where you’ll find a copious buffet of viennoiseries, cereals, fruit salad, ham, cheese, bread, yoghurt, bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit juices, tea or coffee. If you prefer, you can have a continental breakfast served to your room at no extra charge (book in advance though).

Le Senat is perfectly located on a quiet side street just a stone’s throw away from the Luxembourg gardens, and a short 15 minute walk from the vibrant Latin quarter, where you’ll find a plethora of restaurants to suit all budgets.
