Highlights The Lot remains undoubtedly one of France's least spoiled regions, with dramatic views at every turn: forgotten valleys, cliff-hanging villages, mediaeval towns and world-famous pre-historic sites. Wonderfully friendly hotels too.

Hotel les Gabarres, Tour de FaureThis is the base hotel for our move on cycling holidays in the Lot. It's a modern hotel and all the rooms have ensuite facilities. There is a pleasant pool area overlooking the surrounding fields and cliffs to the rear of the hotel and the pretty village of St Cirq-La-Popie is just a stroll away. As the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, your evening meal is taken at the Auberge des Versanes. Further details on the hotel website. Independent hotel reviews on Trip Advisor. |

La Garissade, LabastideThe little town of Labastide Murat was built as a lookout-post in the 13C - and the hotel dates back to its origins. The town takes its name from its most famous son, Joachim Murat, who rose from himble beginnings to become Napoleon's Master-at-Arms, brother-in-law and King of Naples. The Logis de France La Garissade started life as a posting house; it was restored and turned into a hotel about 3 decades ago by the Recourt family. It offers 20 completely renovated quiet ensuite rooms. M Recourt presides in the kitchen and his cuisine is a firm Headwater favourite! Further details on the hotel website.
