This holiday is a 12 night, upper 2 boot, guided walking holiday.

Chile has an amazing culture and history with the chance to see Inca fortresses, Indian villages and ancient rock art. It is also a country of stunniing natural beauty: awesome glaciers, spectacular fjords and snow capped Andes.

Walking details:

Walkers should be comparatively fit and confident. Walks are on ash, gravel and loose stone paths in the Atacama - there is one 4m ladder descent on day 7. Sturdy walking boots essential, poles recommended.

Chile is truly a land of contrasts occupying a long coastal strip from the high and arid Atacama Desert in the north to the wild and windswept region of Patagonia in the far south, a distance of about 2,500 miles or (4000km) in length. Chile has everything for lovers of spectacular natural sights: - deserts, volcanoes, rivers, mountains, glaciers, forests and at night clear star-filled skies. This trip takes in all of them at an easy pace and includes the world famous Chilean wine country that lies to the south of Santiago the capital city.

This holiday is good for anyone looking for a unique experience in one of the most vividly beautiful countries in South America.

Most of our walks are on private land by arrangement, so the only other tourists you will see will be in the Atacama. Adventurous people who like a bit of luxury will really appreciate it.

Possibility of non-standard departures?

It is not possible to start this holiday on a non standard date as this is a guided holiday. However, it is possible to have extra nights in Santiago at the start or end of the tour.
