This is a 2 boot walking holiday - this is because of the distance each day rather than the altitude change or the terrain. There is lots of classic Galician countryside to enjoy, rural paths and hamlets with cafes and restaurants for pilgrims along the route.
Walks on this holiday are on village streets, country lanes, farm tracks and rural paths. Walking boots are essential. Walking poles are recommended.
This holiday takes you from Leon in northern Spain along the Camino de Santiago to Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain.
This holiday will appeal firstly to those who like varied and good quality accommodation. It is a holiday for sociable walkers too - this is a popular route. A lot of the fun on this holiday comes from the diverting and interesting people you will meet along the way.
This holiday is similar to our Orvieto to Rome walk, as both follow well known pilgrimage routes. Although you move on nearly every day, the terrain is relatively easy and the walking surfaces will pose no difficulty so it won't be as hard as it sounds.
Non standard departures are possible on request. It is easy to add nights in Madrid or Leon before the trip and also in Santiago after the trip.
This holiday is based on a minimum of 2 passengers.
We're probably a little biased, so here's what our customers say...
"'This was a superb holiday. Ten out of ten. The arrangements went like clockwork, the accommodation was excellent, and the people we walked with outstanding!'"
