General information:
This is a 2 boot independent walking holiday with swimming possibilities on most days.
Location:
On this holiday you explore ancient troglodyte villages set in limestone cliffs, fascinatingly painted caves, and the wild wooded valleys and meandering rivers of Périgord Noir, following marked paths linking some of France’s finest fortified châteaux.
There’s no shortage of interest on the way. There are the medieval towns of Sarlat and Beynac and a plethora of imposing châteaux on the hilltops and in the valleys. In places like Les Eyzies, and the other sites of Prehistoric Man’s settlement in the area, you can marvel at his early artwork, and see how the troglodytes used to live, hunt and survive.
As you visit some of the finest sights of the region, you’re never far from the Dordogne and Vézère rivers. And, at the end of the day, wonderful meals in charming hotels beckon.
