Independent, 7 nights single centre.
2 Boot level. On several days there is a choice of walk at either the upper or lower end of the 2 Boot scale.
Fairly challenging with steepish climbs and descents. Paths are reasonably well made. It can be hot in high season, though there is plenty of shade.
This 2-boot holiday takes place in the remote hills & valleys of the Alto Mugello. On two days, there is a choice of walks both at the lower and upper range of a 2-boot holiday. The terrain is fairly challenging and there are some steep ascents and descents.
Palazzuolo sul Senio is situated in the heart of the Alto Mugello, a beautiful wooded and mountainous area quite unlike what most visitors think of as Tuscany. There is a jumble of ridges, with the hills covered in beech, oak and chestnut forests which provide welcome shade to the walker. The Senio valley is in fact close to the border with the province of Emilia Romagna, and at the centre of a ‘magic triangle’ with the art cities of Bologna, Faenza and Florence at its tips.
Palazzuolo itself is a friendly village with a long history, and you will enjoy strolling through its cobbled lanes or sipping a coffee and watching the world go by.
Food lovers (5-course meals), people who want to 'get away from it all', people who want peace and quiet and good walking. Italy enthusiasts.
Would not be suitable for anyone looking for nightlife and not suitable for children as the walks would not be of interest to them.
We think this holiday is similar to Classic Swiss Alps but hotter and slightly tougher walking.
Non standard transfers are possible but would be at a supplement.
Breakfasts, evening meals and 6 picnics are included. 2 cookery demonstrations, and wine and olive oil tasting are also included.
We're probably a little biased, so here's what our customers say...
