FOOTHILLS OF MONT BLANC WALK (FURTHER DETAILS)

General information:
This is an independent 7 night, single centre 2 and 3 boot walking holiday. Varied walking on well-made and maintained paths with excellent signposting. There are some steep climbs and a small amount of scrambling on a couple of walks. Two of the 3 Boot walks may not be possible in early season because of snow (varies from year to year). Some walks depend on cable car outside the hotel - important to find out when it will be running each summer.

Location:
Canton of Valais close to French border, small hamlet of Les Marecottes. Wonderful scenery and mountain views (Mont Blanc from some of the walks). Very comfortable hotel in quiet unspoilt village. Large indoor pool. Helpful and friendly proprietors. Lots of rare and protected flowers, especially early season. Opportunity to take train to Chamonix and cable car up Mont Blanc.
