WALKING IN OBERAMMERGAU (FURTHER DETAILS)

General information:
Based in the southern, alpine part of Bavaria, not far from Austrian border.this is 1 and 2 boot walking single centre walking holiday. The hotel is based in the picturesque village of Oberammergau. This is a walkers paradise, plenty of variation, from mountain hikes to more relaxed walks through valleys and wetland nature reserves. Plenty to see,from the sap village of Bad Kohlgrub, to cable car ride up to 1685 m to Laberjoch to a visit to Mad King Ludwig's castle at Neuschwanstein.

Location:
Well-signed walks on well-made paths. Chair lifts can be used to gain altitude. 2 Boot walks tend to feature some climbs with long descents, but are probably at the lower end of 2 Boot scale. Programme of 1 and 2 boot walks designed to allow mixed ability groups to walk together.

Huge walking area offering varied walks. Excellent public transport - walks use buses and trains for variety. Very comfortable, friendly, family-run hotel with good food, just a short distance from the centre. Famous village - lots to see and do - shops, museums, history, culture. Visit Linderhof, Neuschwanstein, Zugspitze.

Who would this holiday appeal to?
All those who enjoy a combination of good walking, history, culture, good food. Mixed ability groups. This holiday would not benefit energetic walkers.
