Highlights Easy, tranquil walking based in the north western corner of Menorca, but including a hire car so you can easily explore the entire tiny island. It offers a rich cultural history, deserted white beaches and is a UNESCO protected Biosphere Reserve.

This walking holiday explores Menorca, one of the loveliest Mediterranean islands - and the least affected by mass tourism. Few people realise that Menorca has more beaches than Mallorca and Ibiza combined, let alone that there is an amazing collection of prehistoric sites to explore.
Much of the walking takes you along the coast - to find such beautiful unspoiled coastline is fantastic, but to find it dotted with castles and watchtowers that hark back to the days of invasion and piracy is even better.
There are wonderful little beaches to be discovered, as well as lovely picnic spots, and you can swim in the sea on all but one of our walks. The coastal trail is called the Cami de Cavalls (‘Horses Road’) and soldiers used it in days long gone by to travel around the island between watchtowers; it’s the local love for bay-hopping walks that has kept the trails open to this day.
Walks on this holiday are mostly coastal trails. Many surfaces are lose stone with some sand paths. Inland sections are on easy country tracks and fram trails. Walking boots are essential.
Menorca is one of the Balearic islands, not to be confused with its bigger neighbour Mallorca. (The other island in the group is Ibiza). The Balearics are in the Mediterranean south of Barcelona.
Menorca is only 30 miles long east to west and about 15 miles wide, so it is easy to get around in a hire car. The capital is Maó at the eastern end of the island, and the only other city in Menorca is Ciutadella on the western coast. The hotel Morvedra Nou where the holiday is based is 7km outside Ciutadella at the western end of the island.
This holiday will appeal to clients who would like some easy coastal walking, a bit of luxury (the hotel is a boutique style converted farmhouse) and time to relax during the week.
Staying in one hotel for 7 nights makes it easy to wind down, and the walks can be done in your own time. Driving on the island is easy with good roads, and the drives to the walks take between 10min and 60min.
We think this holiday is similar to ‘Highlights of Tenerife’, but the walking here is much easier. In terms of hotel and walking level, we suggest that ‘Following Aphrodite's Trail’, Gozo is a good comparison.
Yes - non standard dates are possible, they would be on request.
