CROSS COUNTRY SKIING IN LAPLAND (FURTHER DETAILS)

General information:
This cross country skiing holiday is based in Saariselka, Lapland, our hotel is based in the centre of the village, with a regular and complimentary ski bus linking the local villages based right outside.

This is one of Finland's most extensive ski networks, with over 200kms of trails (34km of which are illuminated) on offer.

Location:
The picturesque village of Saariselka is based on the edge of one of Finland's loveliest National Parks - Urho Kekkonen.

You will have a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights, plus there are plenty of opportunities to take part in other activities (payable locally) including: snowshoeing, dog/reindeer sledding and downhill skiing- the alpine slopes are just 5 minutes away by bus.

Who would this holiday appeal to?
We feel that this holiday would be suitable for confident beginners/improvers, as well as families with children and couples looking for a real arctic experience!

It is not possible for us to arrange non-standard departures on this holiday.

Other details:
This is largely an independent cross country ski holiday although we've included 3 x 2hr lessons with a professional local ski guide to help you get started.

There is a great ski bus (free of charge) that links all the trails (over 220kms ) so getting around is very easy.

You've also got alpine on the doorstep too - just 5 minutes away.
