Belle Epoque week 22 January 2012
The village of Kandersteg goes back one hundred years and celebrates the Belle Epoque era with a week of traditional activities and entertainment. Included in your programme for this week are a horse drawn sledge ride, a visit to the Belle Epoque exhibition at the village museum and a Grand Diner Musical at the Hotel Alfa Soleil.
The scenic village of Kandersteg is in a wide valley flanked by grand mountains. It is easily accessible, particularly by train, being on the main line through Switzerland and has connections to Germany, Belgium and Italy.
* The two ski areas, Oeschinensee and Sunnbühl, are both small and very friendly making them perfect for for beginners and intermediates.
This holiday is suited to both complete beginners and improvers, aswell as families with children.
It is a great holiday for people wanting to get away from it all.
Non standard departures are possible, however, please check on booking what lessons will be included if arriving on a non standard date.
On selected weeks we can also offer stays of 5 nights - please call for prices.
Included in this holiday are 7 nights accommodation at *** Alfa Soleil Hotel, return transfers to Kandersteg railway station, 3 x 2 hour cross country skiing lessons with the local ski school and local ski bus pass. Ski pass, boot, pole and ski hire are also included.
Kandersteg offers 75kms of marked trails, so independent skiing is really easy. Peter and Agnes (hoteliers) will go through how the skiing works on arrival (how to find trails, where to go for lessons etc). Private ski lessons are available (pay locally).
