General information:

This holiday is a 2 cycle independent holiday.

All hotels on this holiday have swimming pools.

There's no shortage of places of interest along the way. There are the medieval towns of Sarlat and Beynac; and a plethora of imposing chateaux on the hilltops and in the valleys. In places like Lascaux and Les Eyzies, and the other sites of Prehistoric Man's settlement in the area, you can marvel at his early artwork, and see how the troglodytes used to live, hunt and survive.

Location:

This holiday explores a fascinating corner of France: the meandering valleys of the Dordogne and the Vézère, and the triangle of undulating and wooded upland between them (the causse). The cycling is a mixture of shady wood and farmland, along quiet country roads and cycle tracks, dotted with little Périgord villages.

We’ve arranged gastronomic menus at the hotels en route, offering the many specialities of the Périgord Noir. The cycling during the day works up a justifiable appetite and allows you to indulge in the evening … without feeling too guilty!

Who would this holiday appeal to?

Best suited to couples due to the holiday being gastronomic, however quite popular with families as there is so much to see and do and the cycling is not too demanding.

Similar to which other holidays?

We think this holiday is similar to the Loire Gastronomic cycling, Classic Lot cycling and Hidden Valleys and Villages cycling.

Possibility of non-standard departures?

Non-standard departures are not possible as this is a repped region, but the holiday runs every other day.

If extra nights are required during the holiday, it is recommended to have 2 nights at a time. This will ensure Headwater reps can transfer luggage on your behalf.
