This holiday is an exploration of the area around Vicenza and Padua. Your cycling will mostly be on farm tracks and quiet country roads which link the network of villages and small towns which have grown up in and around the hills. Originally volcanic, the Euganean hills are rich in minerals and have, over the years, been terraced with vines and dotted with cherry trees. The area’s lush greenery drew Venetian nobles away from their watery city to escape its muggy heat, and you’ll pass many of their sumptuous villas along the way. The Euganean and Berici hills are lesser known treasures of Venetia and long may they remain so - their panorama is always at your side.
There is also the opportunity to visit Venice, Padua and Vicenza. Could there be a better combination for a cycling holiday?
Anyone who wants a good mixture of sightseeing in the great Veneto art cities, and easy cycling.
The Aveyron Activities holiday also offers cycling using one hotel as your base for the week. The cycling is however more difficult.
There is a good mix of easy cycling and sightseeing in the great art cities of Bologna, Ravenna and Ferrara on the Exploring Emilia Romagna cycling holiday. This holiday takes you to 4 different hotels.
If you find yourselves having a longer wait in Venice until your train to Vicenza, we would suggest getting the bus into Venice so you can explore the city and then catch the train from Venice Santa Lucia instead.
We're probably a little biased, so here's what our customers say...
