BACKROADS OF MALLORCA CYCLING (FURTHER DETAILS)

General information:
This is a 1 bike cycling holiday with the opportunity to extend your route each day should you wish to do so. It is easy cycling and mainly flat or gently undulating, with only a 2 steady (but easy) ascents, one on the Windmills and Beaches Route and another on the Eastern Promise Route.

You can discover lots of local markets, prehistoric talaiots and windmills, golden stone monasteries and masses of smallholdings awash with a patchwork of wildflower meadows, wheat, olives and vines.

One of the benefits of the EU funding that Mallorca has been awarded is the number of narrow back roads that have been upgraded - there is hardly any traffic making them a real joy to discover.

The range of possible restaurant stops for lunch on our routes from day to day is excellent, though if you prefer you can easily take a picnic from the hotel.

Location:
This holiday takes place in the south east of Mallorca. You sre based on a beautiful farm for the week called Es Passarell. From here we have arranged 6 cycling routes out to neighbouring market towns, local beaches and natural parks, ancients sites, country museums and local bodegas.

Most of the interior of Mallorca is flat so the cycling is not demanding, and close by you can see several dramatic hills topped with monasteries and in the distance have views of the Tramuntana Mountains.

Who would this holiday appeal to?
This holiday will appeal to anyone who likes easy cycling and exploring in unspoiled countryside on two wheels. The farm where you stay really does feel like home. Joy and Spencer who own and run it are welcoming and helpful while also being quite discreet so it really does feel like you are in a private villa rather than in a hotel.

Teenagers would probably struggle with this holiday as in the evenings you will be out in the countryside with no bright lights and just wine and good company to pass the time.

Similar to which other holidays?
This is similar to Secrets of Andalucia or Secret Valleys of Ronda apart from the fact it is cycling instead of walking.

It is a stay put 7 night trip with UK hosts offering high quality accommodation and food.

Possibility of non-standard departures?
