The Thon Hotel Skeikampen is a typical Norwegian mountain retreat. With a traditional wooden oxblood exterior and thick snow insulating the roof, it is located at the foot of the Skeikampen Fell in a perfect ski in - ski out location in the heart of the village. All 82 comfortable en suite rooms have views of the snowy landscapes outside, and the public rooms inside are intimate and welcoming, with blazing open fires surrounded by comfy sofas. Cut glass chandeliers hang from the wooden ceilings and light up oil paintings that bedeck the walls in the lounge, from where the views over the valley are particularly lovely. Downstairs, the busy restaurant serves up fantastic gourmet buffet dinners, (table service on quieter evenings), with menus often including wild salmon, venison fillet or roast beef with all the trimmings. After dinner, choose to socialise in the bar with some live music, or retreat to the fireside in the lounge with a drink. With all meals included in your holiday price, you can either make a picnic from the extensive breakfast buffet, or return to the hotel after an excursion to enjoy a three course buffet lunch every day the choice is yours.

We have included three two hour cross-country ski lessons during the week with an expert instructor at the local ski school to give you the confidence to enjoy the many varied cross country trails available. Also included is cross-country equipment for the week, snowshoe hire for one day, the Norse sled ride on Thursday, and you can use the heated indoor pool in the neighbouring hotel free of charge. All other activities can easily be booked and paid for locally.
