HEART OF BRITTANY WALK TASTER

This holiday is based on our Heart of Brittany Walk holiday. On this 4-night 'taster' version you follow the same route and have all the benefits of the full tour, but you move on everyday (no rest days). Our 'taster' holidays are ideal for a long weekend break.

This popular six-night walking holiday is like no other in our brochure. It’s a wonderfully flat route taking in the gentle coastline of the south-west corner of Brittany, and the views are spectacular throughout. You’ll stumble across idyllic little fishing ports and enjoy leisurely lunches in pretty, thatchedroofed villages. You’ll discover sandy bays, hidden coves and long quiet beaches sloping gently into the Atlantic Ocean. And, at the end of each day, you’ll enjoy excellent local cuisine in our friendly, specially chosen hotels.

Your holiday starts in Bénodet, a charming and authentic fishing resort in a pretty, verdant setting at the mouth of the Odet estuary. It’s then along the coast to Mousterlin where the *** Hôtel de la Pointe overlooks the sandy dunes. Facilities here include tennis courts, swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Along the way to Port Manec’h, the path passes between the sea and a number of salt-water lakes and ponds. This protected habitat is a haven for bird and aquatic insect life, a place to keep the binoculars close to hand.

Finally the walk turns inland to follow the lazy river Aven upstream. You stick to its right bank through woods, around inlets and past the postcard village of Kerdruc before arriving in Pont Aven. A picturesque little town, straddling the river, it’s popular with painters continuing the tradition set down by Gaugin who came to paint here in the 1880’s and set up the Pont Aven school in the years that followed.
