If you can spend ten days in Burgundy, this holiday has it all - the wines, the quaint mediaeval towns, the glories of the Renaissance, the wonderful food. En route, you visit pretty old riverside villages and ancient Burgundian towns. Highlights include the beautiful château of Tanlay, the fortified village of Noyers-sur-Serein, Montréal (probably Burgundy’s most typical mediaeval village), and Christendom’s finest Romanesque abbey at Vézelay.
You mostly bowl along pleasant little roads following the courses of three rivers (the Yonne, the Serein and the Armançon). You travel through quiet rolling countryside, with vineyards to the north and meadows and woods to the south.
You stay in some of our most popular Burgundy hotels - Ligny and Poilly being particular favourites - and you have wonderful opportunities for sampling the famous regional dishes and wines. Visit Chablis where wine has been made since the last millennium, and Tonnerre - the mysterious Fosse Dionne, and the oldest hospital in France.
For more infomation about this holiday, including hotel descriptions, travel options and full holiday itinerary, please see our new 'further details' section.
This holiday is also available as a tour only 'lite' version. This is based on our regular holiday, but you make your own travel arrangements, bring your own bikes, and arrange your own evening meals - all of these, of course, can be booked and arranged through us at a supplement.
Well proven organisation. Consistent over the years.
