About Palma de Mallorca
Palma is the biggest city within the Balearics and makes for a super short break. It combines all the usual attractions of a city – museums, galleries, great shops, etc – with the added advantage of being by the sea. The city was under Moorish rule from 9th – 13th centuries and the beautiful cathedral, together with the labryinth of streets surrounding it, is a genuine reminder of the city’s colourful past.
Eating and drinking in Palma is generally less expensive than in other Spanish cities. The Passeig de Born, the Avenida d’Antoni Maura and the Portixol area are probably the liveliest places to head for in the evening.
