Villa Campestri
Villa Campestri is a smart 18th century villa in a fabulous setting on the edge of the Florentine hills, surrounded by rolling meadows, forests, vineyards and olive trees. It offers verything you could want from a former palazzo: sweeping lawns, antiques, red brocade sofas and magnificent Murano chandeliers. The lovely swimming pool (17m x 7m) enjoys superb views out over the Mugello valley and there is a panoramic sun terrace where meals are served in fine weather.
The 22 bedrooms are equally gorgeous and all are fully equipped with grand bathrooms, telephone, minibar, satellite TV and hairdryer. All offer lovely views out over the park, the Tuscan countryside and/or the swimming pool.
The restaurant is one of the finest in the area and relies heavily on home-grown produce: mushrooms, figs, cherries and apples. The cuisine is light and typical Tuscan in style, and the wine list includes some of the finest Chianti’s. In the cellar beneath, is Italy’s first Oloeteca, a cave dedicated to the culture of olive oil and reserved exclusively for hotel guests.
