Rural retreat: Hostellerie de la Fontaine

This long-time Headwater favourite is run by M and Mme Guedon's and is in the centre of the small village of Accolay in Burgundy. The main highlights are the food - it really is something special - and the lovely garden (perfect for pre-dinner drinks). Meals are taken in the atmospheric restaurant (formerly vaulted old wine cellars) and M Guedon will happily advise on the best local wines to match your selection.

This hotel makes for a great base from which to explore the local area: pretty old riverside villages, ancient Burgundian towns and the Morvan National Parkland.
