Tour France with Headwater
Are you tempted by the Tour de France, but not sure if you could manage the 3,500 kilometres? Well...
Why not try a Headwater Holiday?
We offer independent walking and cycling holidays, moving every second day with a rest day in between. Each cycling circuit is graded:
1 bike = mainly flat, gentle cycling. Usually 2 - 4 hrs every second day. Suitable for first timers and families.
2 bikes = varied cycling with occasional hills. Typically 3 - 5 hrs cycling every other day. No need to be a regular cyclist or especially fit.
Not only can you enjoy the relaxed cycling of a Headwater holiday, you too can cover parts of then Tour de France 2008!!
On Sunday 6th July - the Tour de France starts in Auray and ends up in Saint-Brieuc which is close to our hotel in Lamballe. We stay here on the first and last nights of our Emerald Coast Cycling. If you would prefer to explore the area on foot, then how's about our Emerald Coast Walk?
On Monday 7th July - the Tour de France stars in Saint Malo, we stay near here in both Dinard and Dinan, which again is perfect for our Emerald Coast Cycling and our Emerald Coast Walk.
On Saturday 12 July - the Tour de France goes from Figeac to Toulouse.
Which offers a perfect location for our Classic Lot Cycling holiday. This holiday is ideally located 5 kilometers from Capdenac (where we stay on nights 4 & 5) and as the route heads down from Figeac via Villefranche (where we stay on nights 7 & 8)

the award:

Travel green this summer...travel by Eurostar
In April 2007 Eurostar found that flying between London, Paris and Brussels generated ten times more emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) than travelling by Eurostar. So as part of there 'tread light campaign' they are committed to reducing its CO2 even more, they hope to reduce this by 25% in 2012.
On top of this, from November 2007 all Eurostar journeys were made Carbon neutral at no extra cost to you (the travellers), resulting in greener travel between the UK and France.
With Eurostar now 20 minutes faster than in previous years and, with up to 20 trains a day to Paris, the flexibility is excellent. The average journey time to Paris from St Pancras is just 2 hours 15 minutes and from Ashford just 2 hours.
Headwater can offer Eurostar travel from *£38.00 per person 2nd class, and *£86.00 per person 1st class. These supplements are for return travel and are on top of the Air-Rail price in our brochure.
Benefits of first class travel include: Spacious reclining seats, 3 course meal served at your table, complimentary champagne aperitifs, and wine with meals, as well as a selection of complimentary drinks available throughout the journey and onboard magazine and complimentary newspapers.

Our hugely successful 'Provence Coastal walk' adds a new date
We have managed to secure a new spring date for our guided walking holiday in Southern France.
The new date is the 18th May- (Which, by the way we think is the best time of year to see the exotic Mediterranean Flora!).
We take groups of up to 8 people on this holiday, so be sure to book as soon as you can as we have very few places left on our spring dates.
