Working as a walking / city guide

Requirements of the job:

• Full clean driving licence and at least 3 years driving experience
  (no driving required in Greece)
• A good working knowledge of the local language
• Interest in history and culture
• Excellent communication skills

Desired qualities:

• Guiding Experience
• Experience of leading groups & group dynamics
• Knowledge of flora & fauna.

Job details:

Salary: From £180 per week

Accommodation: Included

Duration of Job: Dependent on brochure dates from 4 weeks to 6 months

Working hours: As necessary according to client requirements

We expect our guides to have a good working knowledge of the language and an appreciation for the local way of life is essential.

As a guide your role is somewhat different from the majority of our reps most obviously with the large amount of time being spent in clients company.

You will accompany a group of an average of 8 clients on walking and/or cultural tours, so experience of leading groups in a similar capacity would be advantageous. Some of our holidays take in great art cities, so a historical and cultural knowledge is also essential. Equally an interest in flora and fauna is essential for walking tours and highly useful for cultural tours. In addition, on most holidays (apart from Greece) you will be expected to drive our minibus in the cities in heavy traffic so good driving skills are a must.
