You've a great choice of activity holidays in Switzerland. In the summer there's walking and cycling and, in the winter, cross country skiing and winter walking choices too.
In the north of the country, in the German speaking Bernese Oberland region, our walking holidays offer you the lion's share of Switzerland's classic alpine scenery, with many of the highest peaks (over 4,000m), deepest valleys, most extensive glaciers, tallest waterfalls and largest mountain lakes. The long summer days are perfect for high mountain walking, and late September onwards is typically a period of 'Indian summer' with fabulous red and golden hues and crystal clear air. In southern Switzerland, our walking holidays are based at Davos in the Goms Valley. A favourite with Swiss hikers, but still a well kept secret, it offers an outstanding mix of majestic snowy mountains, thundering waterfalls, and Europe's longest glacier. You'll hear church bells chime down the valley and see fountains of flowers gracing village window boxes as you stroll from one delicious meal to another.
Our cycling holidays explore the classic Swiss Lakes - beautifully flat and unspoiled, they are ideal for families, first-timers and fair weather cyclists!
In the winter months the snowy peaks offer a damatic backdrop to our cross country skiing holidays. Switzerland is a snow sure destination, with many immaculately groomed trails, and the same postcard pretty villages and high quality hotels that make it so appealing for the rest of the year.
