Customers have told us that this skiing holiday is the perfect blend of discovery and indulgence. You are based in Norway’s first Spa Hotel, in the heart of the country on the edge of spectacular 580km2 Rondane National Park. The region is one of plunging valleys, majestic mountains and open plateaux and has been sparsely inhabited since Viking times. This is also mythical Peer Gynt country, where one of the best trail networks in Norway links valleys, lakes and hamlets, offering exceptional cross country skiing at all levels.
A heady blend of fabulous wild countryside, fine food and wines, delightful traditional accommodation offering international standard spa treatments and the pure, blissful peace and quiet, makes a stay here an irresistible prospect.
We have included 3 lessons with our local ski guide and once a week, there’s a guided snowshoe trip from the hotel. With over 200kms of trails radiating out from the hotel door, you really are spoilt for choice. Those with a shaky snow plough can stick to the flat plateau and the glorious Furusjoen frozen lake trails offering day long loops through pristine forest. More advanced skiers will love the valley views from the Rapham and Graho trails which rise behind the hotel. Everywhere you ski you will be in awe of the majesty of the landscape, the clarity of the air, and the amazing array of animal tracks on the snow, where lynx, reindeer, foxes and hare seem to have taken to using the trails as nocturnal highways!
