It’s been a traditional gathering post for local shepherds for over a thousand years! You’ll find ancient houses weighed down by their heavy stone roofs, wobbly little streets, and quaint old fashioned bars. It’s a region of great natural beauty too. There are vast open plateaux, pretty little valleys, unique volcanic landscapes and dramatic mountain ridges.

During the week you’ll glide along well maintained pistes through woods and open plateaux – it’s a kind of silent 'moonscape' feel when blanketed with snow, and you follow deer and fox tracks, surprise unsuspecting partridge, and enjoy the most breathtaking panoramas over the Auvergne and Alps beyond.
