One of France's largest ski areas - 220kms of trails
Frozen lakes, deer & chamonis, spruce forests
Free ski bus for independent skiing and exploring
Stunning Alpine views over to Switzerland
Great choice for cross country skiing holidays
Lying on the Swiss border, the Haut Jura is a high plateau of
glacial lakes, open meadows and thick spruce forests. Deer
and chamois roam the hillsides, and eagles and buzzards soar
above the high peaks enjoying balcony views of the Swiss Alps.
Locals here live in tavaillon ('thatched') wooden chalets and
are immensely proud of their artisan traditions – everywhere,
you’ll find wood carving, pottery, cheese making and gem
cutting still going on as they have for centuries.
With over 220kms of trails linking the villages of Les Rousses,
Bois d’Amont, Premanon and Lamoura, this is an excellent base
for cross country skiers of all abilities. We have therefore built
selected first-timers, beginners and improvers weeks into our
programme, according to your preferred holiday date. When
you’re not out skiing, you can try out snowshoeing, ice skating,
tobogganing or Alpine skiing – there are 42 downhill pistes.
The complimentary ski bus stops outside the hotel, links all the
villages, and makes independent exploring easy too.
